They have others who are capable of making catches, but Coleman is by far the best playmaker on the team. He's quick and can get open a lot.

Oh I agree with you I was just wondering how often they have tryed throwing to anyone else.

In any case it looks like Burton did a better job going through the air Friday and IMHO that is a good thing for them

I don't think it is so much that but in HS, a QB normally looks for 1 receiver and 1 receiver only. Very few, and I repeat, very few QB's at the HS level go thru progressions and hit other receivers. They normally have their mind made up before the snap.

True, but I did see a couple of passes to miles I think last night. Coleman is just the most reliable player on the field, cant blame any QB for looking his direction first and most always. Talley has good hands, if he wasnt QB he'd be catching a lot of balls - He has quite a few INT's this year doesnt he?

yes he does, he has pulled down some of the best INT's I have ever witnessed. I know of 4 going back to last year as well that he pulled down 1 handed. We just don't have any other option at QB this year.

    Re: Clintwood vs. Thomas Walker

I think Burton has a very real chance of winning, but it really depends on who comes to play. I'm not sure how much of a difference the turf will make, but I think each team has their speedsters and I don't see either having a huge advantage over the other. I see Clintwood having the better defense for some reason, though.

If Clintwood loses, I'm gonna come on here and complain about the turf the reason, just like the wet field was

    Re: Clintwood vs. Thomas Walker

LOL how is it different? Most people would say that games should be played on something like Appalachia, and in the worst conditions, because that is football. The turf helps speed look better than it is

I'm not gonna sit on here and complain about the turf, because just like a wet field, both teams have to play on it, and deal with it. As much as I think the wet field could have hurt Norton when we played due to cuts, it hurt Clintwood who I think at least at that point had the better passing attack, it hurt Clintwood who has a pretty relentless defensive front coming at a Burton line that had been dealing with some injuries and there was a good number of times when the push off their foot that the Clintwood players took led to them falling down. Thats the point that got me, its like the rain only fell when Burton had it, and the field was only wet where they tried to run. It affects both teams naturally, but a couple couldn't admit that

It very possibly could go the other way when they play this coming weekend because they are both really good teams and a couple bounces, a miscommunication, a busted tackle and it could turn the momentum of the game.

And yes everybody from Norton is horrible, some just don't know it yet lol

No I like most of the people from Norton in truth, only a small handful should have a cattle prod applied to them but heck we got a few that need that to.

    Re: Clintwood vs. Thomas Walker

I feel you, I agree 100%, the excuses are terrible. Clintwood has a great gameplan against Burton and always have. I just hope we throw a wrinkle or two in there this week to help us pull out a win.

I just hope we can turn the tide on you all like you did on us last year. Should be one helluva game or at least I hope it is.
